Pietta Stainless Steel 1851 Navy reproduction

01-Dec-2024 UPDATE - FAKE AND GAY. Not Stainless! They went ahead and changed all descriptions to "polished steel," and reviews indicate the metal does indeed rust and attracts a magnet.

I've wanted a stainless steel Colt blackpowder revolver for a while. I don't like these "commemorative" guns in general. It seems they pop up at auctions and have less collector value than a normal gun and are lower priced when used. It should be noted that Pietta also makes a Stainless .44 1851 Navy that also has gawdy engravings all over it ($400), although I'd rather have the .44's floral swirly-doo's than a bunch of commemorative text written across the whole thing. But the Commemorative revolver here seems to have a matching backstrap and grip (not sure if stainless or nickle-plated), whereas the .44 has a brass grip.

MidWayUSA's selling price is $500 buck here.

"It's a nice gun, I'll give you that. But the engraving gives you no tactical advantage whatsoever." -Big Boss

Misspellings? On my commemerative engraving?  It's more likely than you think!

It's pretty but I only want engravings on the Cylinder, as Samuel Colt intended.

Features:

Caliber: .36
Barrel Length: 7.5"
Grip: Walnut
Old Silver Frame and Barrel
Engraved Barrel, Cylinder and Frame
Period and Historically Correct

Note: I just noticed that it said "Old Silver frame and barrel", which is what they called their nickel-plated models. I don't even know if this product is even stainless steel or not, but here's hoping.
