The Hera Arms H6, a side-fed-magazine, modern, bolt action chambered in 5.56mm. I am a sucker for anything with a sideways magazine and I was interested in this when I heard about it years ago. But there are already dozens of 5.56 bolt actions, including several different AR15-based bolt actions , a 3d printed mauser-style 5.56 , and even a 3d-printed side-fed bolt-gun based on a Halo sniper rifle (which I cannot find anywhere, it might have been a photo on twitter part of a closed beta project). I quickly lost interest in the Hera H6 knowing I could possibly build something like it - that and I already bought a cheap Savage Axis in .223 so the allure of owning another 5.56 bolt action has been lost for me, but it's nice to see unique and odd weapons still being released. Was searching for photos of custom 1858 Remingtons and ran across this website selling these things. Honestly, not sure if this is cursed, but it is definitely odd. I have several brass framed 1858 Remingtons reproductions and I'm thinking... I probably would. While brass-framed revolvers did exist historically, they were mostly produced in limited numbers and mostly a Confederate thing. These 1858 brass-framed Remingtons produced by Pietta, CVA and others are mostly a thing of historical fiction. Honestly I wouldn't mind outfitting one my Pietta reproductions with these for funsies.
